Welcome to Home Base
If you’re wondering, “How can I get involved with Somerville Community Land Trust (SCLT)?” you’ve come to the right place. Home Base is SCLT’s hub for new and seasoned volunteers to help guide and execute SCLT programming and activities. A vibrant Home Base is a team with individuals from across Somerville’s diverse communities who contribute their experience, expertise, creativity, and interests to support SCLT’s work to preserve affordable housing in Somerville. We need your participation!
Home Base anchors its work in a monthly meeting over Zoom the 3rd Thursday of the month from 12pm-1pm, where we plan events and education campaigns, design communications, stand up collaborations with partner agencies, and brainstorm creative ways to further SCLT’s mission. We keep the momentum going through the SCLT Home BaseSlack channel to share events, post advocacy opportunities, and build community.
Some of Home Base’s achievements are:
Raising community awareness of SCLT at events like ArtBeat, Gilman Square Arts and Music Festival, Remnant Brewing Community Pint Night, Honk!, and the annual end-of-year SCLT Celebration
Educating interested community members through CLT 101 and 102 sessions
Co-hosting a community design meeting for the SCLT property at 297 Medford St. with building partners Just-A-Start
Launching the Rooted in Somerville education and fundraising pilot program in partnership with Community Action Agency of Somerville
Designing logos, flyers, and merch
Home Base will be even better with your good ideas! To join, please contact Andrés Bueno, Community Engagement Manager at: a.bueno@somervillecommunitylandtrust.org / 857-523-9778 and click this Zoom.
